The release of autopsy findings for the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, is eagerly awaited and is expected to be available within the next three to four weeks.
During a coroner’s inquest into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, Dr. Richard Somiari, the Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, provided valuable testimony on Wednesday.
Under cross-examination by the defense counsel, Somiari informed Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, the Coroner:
“We anticipate receiving the initial autopsy findings within three to four weeks. Subsequently, we will verify these findings to confirm the exact cause of death.”
Somiari elaborated on the meticulous process undertaken, stating, “We explored various possibilities, including the involvement of poison, as no specific cause of Mohbad’s death was initially mentioned.”
Furthermore, Somiari assured the public regarding the security and monitoring of samples for the autopsy, stating:
“We have implemented stringent protocols to ensure the safe storage and security of all samples. Additionally, there are established procedures for tracking and monitoring samples sent abroad.”
Mohbad, who tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, at the young age of 27, left a void in the music industry, prompting an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.
